Our School Values
At St Peter’s, our Christian Vision and school community are built upon six core Christian Values: Hope, Trust, Respect, Faith, Love, and Forgiveness. These values shape who we are and how we grow together. They create a nurturing learning environment, guide the choices we make each day, and support the development of our social, moral, spiritual, and cultural understanding.
Our values help us to live well together. They influence our attitudes and actions, encouraging every member of our school family to take responsibility for their learning, their relationships, and their behaviour.
In the busyness of life, it can be easy to lose sight of the values that matter most. At St Peter’s, these six values serve as constant reminders of the kind of people we strive to be—individuals who bring light, kindness, and hope into the world.

To deepen children’s understanding of our core values, we provide structured opportunities for them to take an active role in Collective Worship. Through participation, reflection, and leadership, pupils learn not only to engage with worship but also to evaluate it and eventually lead it themselves.
Our school draws on a rich range of resources to support our Collective Worship, including materials inspired by the Blackburn Diocese, and Imaginor’s Roots and Fruits. Our core values are shared with children regularly in creative, memorable ways and are continually reinforced through our teaching. While many of these values can be understood as universal “human values,” inclusive for people of all faiths and none, as a Church of England school we root these values in the teachings of the Bible.
Below you will find supporting documents based on our sub‑values. These resources help children explore the deeper meaning behind each of our six core values. Each document provides a brief explanation of the sub‑value, along with a linked Bible story that illustrates it clearly and is especially meaningful for the children.
