St Peter's C.E. Primary School

St. Peter’s is a one form entry Church of England voluntary aided primary school, serving the parish of St. Peter’s Church and providing a Christian education for those who choose it.

St. Peter’s Church of England Church founded the school in 1860. We have strong links with the Parish Church and the local community.

Parents and the community are welcome in school, being partners in educating our children. It is a caring and happy school where children are expected to work hard and there is a good understanding between staff and children.

There are eight classrooms, several group teaching rooms, an additional area for continuous provision in Early Years and KS1, a creative craft room,portable laptop and iPad trolleys, a central library, general admin offices and a staff room.

Parents wishing to visit school before applying for a place/s for their child/children are welcome to contact the school office to request an appointment.

St Peter's School is one of several in the local area. Our ethos is distinctively Christian. Staff pride themselves in their consistent hard work to provide an exciting curriculum which brings about very good progress and high standards for our pupils. In December 2013, Ofsted judged our school to be outstanding in all four areas of the inspection: achievement & standards, teaching, behaviour & safety, leadership & management (including governance). We have a very strong bond with our local church, St. Peter’s. Reverend Canon Joan Matthews is our Chair of Governors. Our Governors are a Board of sixteen people, elected to challenge and support our staff to get the very best for our pupils. They play a large part in the school’s life by offering their skills to assist with finance, staffing, the upkeep of the premises, pupil admissions, curriculum, target-setting, provision for vulnerable pupils, health and safety.Here are the children’s reasons why you should choose our school:
